The Holidays are Past But Giving Doesn’t Have to Be

“Happiness doesn’t result from what we get, but from what we give.” This is a quote that I identify with. Paul and I have worked hard to build San Clemente Villas by the Sea and Brazeau Thoroughbred Farms and we both have a heart for giving back to those in our community who need help.

We support the Alzheimer’s foundation and various charities in the Orange County Area. We also give and donate personally whenever we can. For me, giving to local charities makes me feel like I am doing something for my fellow man. But money isn’t the only way we give.

We have held fundraisers and rummage sales here at the Villas. We have sponsored local chamber mixers which support our local businesses here in San Clemente, and I have walked or run in causes that raise money for local and national charities. One of the charities was the Aloha Run which benefits  Honor Flight. Honor Flight.

It is only natural that we think of donations and giving at the holidays, but let’s face it, for those people who are struggling a few toys and cans of food at the holidays doesn’t go very far. Most people who need help just need a hand up, not a hand out, and if I can be a part of helping someone getting their life back on track, then I want to do whatever I can.

What kind of charities and donations will you be making throughout the year? Remember, it really is better to give.

Happy New Year
